'Inglourious Basterds' keeps overseas b.o. crown

Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" prevailed at the international box office this weekend with an estimated $14.3 million in ticket sales in 35 markets. The film's overseas total gross currently stands at a solid $83.3 million.
Following closely in second place this weekend was "The Final Destination," which also retained the No. 1 spot in North America. The David R. Ellis-directed horror sequel brought in $14 million, lifting its international cume to $31.1 million.
At No. 3, "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" finished with $10.8 million, bringing its cumulative gross to a stunning $657.5 million. That makes the sequel the fourth biggest grossing film overseas in history.
Meanwhile, Pixar's animated tale "Up" bagged $8.6 million in fourth place, reaching a total haul of $168.9 million. Following at No. 5 with $6.4 million this weekend was "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3," which brought its cume to $48.5 million after expanding.
Other results from the overseas box office: Hit comedy "The Proposal" earned $5.6 million for a $124.7 million total; "G-Force" collected $5.4 million; "District 9" picked up $4.6 million; and "The Ugly Truth" took home $4.1 million.
