Hugh Jackman, star of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and "Australia," is in talks to play the lead character in Shawn Levy's upcoming futuristic robot boxing movie "Real Steel," which DreamWorks is developing.
Set in the future, the film focuses on a world in which human boxing is forbidden. Instead, big humanoid robots step in to take over the sport. Variety says Jackman will play a man who finds a talented robot boxer.
John Gatins, the man behind "Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story" and "Coach Carter," is rewriting the most recent draft. Dan Gilroy and Les Bohem worked on previous drafts. Levy is working on the script as well.
Levy's credits include the awful "The Pink Panther," "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "Big Fat Liar." He currently has "Date Night" in production, and he most recently helmed "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian."
As for Jackman, he has plenty of projects in development, including a "Wolverine" sequel, "Ghostopolis" and "Avon Man." I really enjoy his acting, and I'm excited to see him box with the robots in this one.

I enjoy his acting, too. That´s why I want him to play in something decent, not another action flick :-(
