'A Nightmare on Elm Street' trailer hits!

Freddy Krueger is back in action in Samuel Bayer's upcoming flick of "A Nightmare on Elm Street," and the first trailer for the remake of the 1984 horror classic has officially debuted online. Check it out after the jump.

The great Jackie Earle Haley will be playing Krueger, a ruthless killer who sneaks into people's dreams and kills them while they're sleeping. I'm not digging the idea of a remake, but I'm stoked they picked Haley as Freddy.

The "Elm Street" remake has Michael Bay written all over it, and that's what scares me a bit. I can only hope this one won't look and feel as disappointing as the recent Bay-produced "Friday the 13th" reboot.

For now though, this trailer looks decent enough, and Haley seems to be quite awesome in his role. Kellan Lutz, Rooney Mara and Kyle Gallner co-star in the flick, which opens April 30, 2010.
