'Up' still dominates international box office

Disney registered another solid weekend at the internatinonal box office as "Up" held on to the top spot with earnings of $12.3 million from ticket sales in 25 markets. The animated adventure by Pixar currently boasts a total gross of $215 million.
Disney also released "Surrogates," which landed at No. 2 with a gross of $12.2 million. In the Jonathan Mostow-directed sci-fi film, Bruce Willis plays a cop investigating a murder in a world in which humans use surrogates to complete everyday tasks.
Meanwhile, Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" brought in $7.5 million, enough to secure the No. 3 spot. The movie's international total currently stands at $128.9 million. "District 9" followed in fourth place, earning $6.1 million for a $56.7 million total.
Two films had to share the fifth spot this weekend: "The Ugly Truth" and "G-Force" both picked up $5.8 million, reaching cumulative grosses of $55 million and $93.2 million respectively.
Other results from the overseas box office: "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" earned $4.9 million; "The Proposal" bagged $3.6 million; "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" generated $2.4 million; and "(500) Days of Summer" pulled $2.6 million.
