'Chance of Meatballs' holds on to No. 1

Sony Pictures Animation's 3D adventure "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" delivered yet another strong performance at the top of the North American box office Friday with an estimated $5.6 million in ticket sales, lifting its domestic total gross to $41 million after a superb one-week run.
At No. 2, Bruce Willis' new sci-fi action flick "Surrogates" debuted with $5.1 million. The Jonathan Mostow-directed film is set in a world in which humans use surrogates to complete everyday tasks. Willis plays an FBI agent who investigates the first homicide in years.
Meanwhile, new entry "Fame" finished third Friday, opening with $3.5 million. The Kevin Tancharoen-directed remake of the 1980 musical follows a bunch of youngsters trying to make it big at a popular academy of performing arts.
Christian Alvart's new horror film "Pandorum," which also opened this weekend, only made it to No.5 with a daily gross of $1.5 million. Starring Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster, the film centers on crewmembers of a spaceship who wake up with no knowledge of their mission.
At No. 4, Steven Soderbergh's comedy "The Informant!" picked up another $2 million, bringing its total gross to $16.1 million. "Love Happens" took home $1.4 million in sixth place, reaching a cumulative gross of $11.8 million after a moderate one-week run.
