Stanley Tucci boards 'Burlesque' musical

Stanley Tucci

Golden Globe winner Stanley Tucci, who last delivered a superb performance in Nora Ephron's "Julie & Julia," has boarded Steve Antin's upcoming musical "Burlesque," which also stars Christina Aguilera and Cher.

Aguilera plays a small-town girl who finds love and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club. Variety says Tucci is set for the role of the club manager and friend of Cher's character, who mentors Aguilera.

Susannah Grant polished a script by Antin. Tucci kept himself busy recently, having appeared in "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl" and "Swing Vote." He also did voice work on "The Tale of Despereaux" and "Space Chimps."

Tucci will also soon be seen in Peter Jackson's "The Lovely Bones." Other upcoming projects of his include "Easy A" and "Hectic." To tell you the truth, he's one of my favorite actors right now.
