Chris Wedge to direct 'Leaf Men' adaptation

Oscar-winning filmmaker Chris Wedge, the man behind "Ice Age," is set to direct Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios' upcoming adventure "Leaf Men," based on William Joyce's illustrated children's book.

Variety reports Fox first wanted to give away the picture but decided to keep it after Wedge started talking to the good folks at Pixar. Yeah, I guess that's reason enough for Fox to be scared.

Joyce's "The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs" centers on a group of bugs gearing up for a big battle against a ruthless spider queen in an attempt to save a garden. They turn to the mythical Leaf Men for help.

Wedge also co-helmed "Robots," which I didn't really enjoyed that much. He also voiced Scrat in all the "Ice Age" flicks. I enjoyed the first "Ice," so I'm quite interested to find out what his plan is for this one.

What's it is with Fox these day's they don't seem to make good decision's like other production companies.I glad he went to pixar and now at least they brought the movie on track of being get maid .Except James Cameron's Avatar I don't think any of the Fox are good enough that are going to come out in the remaining time of the year.
