Let me tell you: I sincerely hoped "Ghost Rider" would never make a comeback. I mean, Mark Steven Johnson's 2007 action flick with Nicolas Cage sucked so bad, I thought they would bury the damn thing and just let it go.
I was wrong, obviously, because in today's world, Hollywood is all about rebooting pretty much anything out there. That said, "Ghost Rider 2" is now officially on the way, courtesy of Columbia Pictures, and this according to Variety.
David S. Goyer is in early negotiations to come up with the story and keep an eye on the writers. Goyer already wrote a "Rider" script years ago, and the plan is to use that as a base for the new flick. Avi Arad, Michael De Luca will produce, among others.
Last year, Nicolas Cage already hinted at a sequel, saying he believed Columbia was definitely planning a second one. Just a week later, Eva Mendes, who also starred in the first film, said she's not really interested in a follow-up.
So there you go. "Rider" will be back, and I don't really care. I will though as long as they don't screw this one up as bad. What are your thoughts on this?
