These friends are confirmed: Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield have joined the cast of David Fincher's upcoming Facebook movie "The Social Network," which Columbia Pictures is developing.
Variety today confirmed Eisenberg will slip into the role of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, while Timberlake will play Napster co-founder Sean Parker. Garfield will portray Eduardo Saverin, one of the site's co-founders.
The script by Aaron Sorkin centers on how Facebook evolved into a site that currently has more than 300 million users. It also examines in what ways the success changed the lives of its creators.
Eisenberg, who recently starred in the brilliant "Adventureland," has "Zombieland" coming up next. Timberlake delivered a very solid performance in "Alpha Dog," and he's got "The Open Road" coming soon. As for Garfield, he'll show up in "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus."
"Social Network" hits production next month. Even though I heard Sorkin's script is supposedly very good, I admit I'm not very excited about a Facebook film. I'm do use the site, yes, but my interest in the whole thing has been declining a bit during the past year.
How about you? Addicted to Facebooking?
