Dennis Hopper, Scott Caan, Tricia Helfer and J.K. Simmons have boarded Jonathan Sobol's upcoming dark comedy "A Beginner's Guide to Endings," which Nicholas Tabarrok ("Defendor") is producing.

The Hollywood Reporter says the film follows three brothers who head out to correct several mistakes they made throughout their lives after they find out they'll be dead in a couple of days.

Caan is set to play one of the brothers, and Hopper and Simmons are portraying the boys' father and uncle. Helfer plays Caan's girldfriend. The film will shoot this fall.

Simmon is currently onscreen in a hilarious cameo in "Jennifer's Body." Hopper can be seen on "Crash," and Caan recently appeared in "Meet Dave." Helfer starred on "Battlestar Galactica."
