This is not really a surprise, but Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" is now the filmmaker's highest grossing film. "Basterds" now officially raced past Tarantino's previous No. 1 film "Pulp Fiction.
"Pulp Fiction" generated $107.9 million domestically, and "Basterds" just reached a total gross of $109.9 million after recent weekend earnings of $3.6 million. The film opened everywhere August 21, 2009.
“We have been Quentin’s biggest fans since the beginning. It was extremely gratifying to see ‘Inglourious Basterds’ put up such huge numbers. It is a kick-ass film from a director who always keeps me and audiences on their toes," Harvey Weinstein said in a press release.
In the film, Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) and his group of 'Basterds' embark on a risky mission to kill Nazis and eliminate the leaders of the Third Reich.
The Weinstein Company and Universal Pictures, co-financed and co-presented "Basterds." In case you haven't seen it yet, make sure you don't miss this one in theaters. It delivers the goods big time, folks!
