'Youth in Revolt' pushed back to 2010

Michael Cera in Youth in Revolt

If you planned to see Michael Cera's new film "Youth in Revolt" in theaters this October, you will have to wait a little. The Weinstein Co. today moved the film from its Oct. 20, 2009 slot to Jan. 15, 2010.

A Dimension Films rep told Variety "Revolt" will be a good counterprogramming to other titles opening In January. Currently, the Miguel Arteta-directed comedy goes up against "Book of Eli" and "Hoodwinked Too."

"Youth in Revolt" is the irreverent story about the wild adventures of a teenage boy named Nick Twisp, who meets the girl of his dreams while on a family vacation and has to turn his life and the lives of all those around him upside down in order to be with her.

You can check out a trailer for the film here. Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi, Justin Long, Fred Willard, Zach Galifianakis, Erik Knudsen and Portia Doubleday co-star. Gustin Nash, screenwriter of “Charlie Bartlett,” penned the script with Arteta.
