'9' web reviews

Shane Acker's animated adventure "9" debuted in theaters this week, and it features the voice of Elijah Wood as a puppet-like being trying to survive in a world where machines won a nasty battle against humans. Here is what some of the Web's critics have to say about the flick:
• William Goss @Cinematical: "For the most part, '9' makes a gorgeous and often thrilling case for its own feature-length existence..."
• CinemaBlend's Josh Tyler: "Though lacking in scale the movie’s look is consistently impressive and the story, though stretched too thin, is fairly creative."
• Rope Of Silicon's Brad Brevet: "Like I said in my opening, this film isn't perfect, but it proves Shane Acker is a filmmaker to keep our eye on."
• Joblo's JimmyO: "'9' has borrowed moments here and there, but it is told in a refreshingly unique way. There is beauty and hope deep inside the nightmare, and you will certainly be moved by 9’s adventures."
• LatinoReview's George Roush: "'9' is a wonderfully mature animated movie that looks great, moves at a brisk pace, and brings up the subject of life and death in way that doesn't treat its audience like they're idiots."
• FilmSchoolRejects' Cole Abaius: "Still, '9' can ultimately be enjoyed best as a mindless sci-fi, action movie even if it shares the unfortunate trait of its main characters of not having any heart underneath its fabric-textured skin."
