Latest from Hollywood: Mandy Moore is 'Rapunzel;' Release set for 'Orson Welles' & more

mandy Moore

• Mandy Moore will be lending her voice to "Rapunzel" in Walt Disney Pictures' upcoming 3D-animated musical, which Byron Howard and Nathan Greno are directing. Zachary Levi from "Chuck" has also been cast, and the music will come from Oscar winner Alan Menken. (via Heat Vision)

• Richard Linklater's "Me and Orson Welles," which stars Zac Efron and Claire Danes, has a release date: Nov. 25, 2009. The film follows a high school student noticed by Orson Welles at the Mercury Theater. He later lands a part in "Julius Caesar" at the production that catapulted Welles to the top... (Variety)

• Max Ryan is the latest to join the cast of Michael Patrick King's "Sex and the City 2." He will be playing a character named Rikard, a European architect who has an encounter with Samantha. I think we all know what that means, right. Ryan's recent acting credits include "Death Race." (The Hollywood Reporter)

• "Point Break Indo," the planned sequel to "Point Break," has apparently been canceled for the time being, this according to Movehole. The project may resurface in the future, but right now, it's not hitting any developmental stages. Probably the best news of the day.

That's all I've got for you today. Time for a round of sleep, and I will be picking this back up in the morning. Sleep tight, fellow movie lovers!
