Jon Favreau to direct 'Cowboys and Aliens'

Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. may be tackling another project together after the upcoming "Iron Man 2." As reported by Heat Vision, Favreau has come on board to helm DreamWorks' comic-book adaptation of "Cowboys and Aliens."
Downey Jr. has been attached to the project for more than a year now. Based on a graphic novel by Fred van Lente and Andrew Foley, the film focuses on a battle between the Apache and Western settlers that is interrupted by the crash of a spaceship somewhere in Arizona.
Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus worked on the script before Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci ("Star Trek") took over. "Cowboys" has been in development for a long time, but it finally seems to be moving ahead.
A collaboration between Downey Jr. and Favreau is something I sure appreciate. The two did a great job on "Iron Man," and it looks like the sequel will deliver some goodness as well. Favreau is really keeping himself busy these days, as you'll also see him in the upcoming comedy "Couples Retreat," which he co-wrote.
