Seth Rogen talks 'Green Hornet' release delay

Seth Rogen's upcoming action film "The Green Hornet" encountered several casting troubles during the past couple of months, but those problems are now a thing of the past. On the other hand, the Michel Gondry-directed project has recently been delayed five months.
"Hornet" was set to open in July 2010, but the film's release date has now been changed to Dec. 17, 2010. No reason for panic though, because this shift doesn't mean the project is in trouble again. In fact, Seth Rogen, who co-wrote the film and will play the lead character, welcomed the switch. Here's what he told HITFIX about it:
"We're both relieved and psyched about the change. It gives more time for post, which would have been immensely rushed if we were to come out in the summer. It also affords us more time to promote the film, (now we can go to Comic-Con with more than a car!) and ultimately is a great vote of confidence from the studio."
There you go. The release date change seems to be making things easier, and fans will just have to wait a bit longer. I'm used to that by now. Anyway, "Hornet" follows the adventures of Britt Reid (Rogen), who inherits his dad's newspaper and fights crime as a masked hero at night.
Jay Chou recently signed on to play Rogen's sidekick Kato, and Nicholas Cage is up for the role of the villain. Cameron Diaz is also on board.
