'Inglourious Basterds' stays on top overseas

Those "Inglourious Basterds" are doing pretty well for themselves, as Quentin Tarantino's WWII drama topped the international box office again this weekend with an estimated $19.4 million in ticket sales. That brings the film's overseas total to $59.1 million. Congrats, Mr. Aldo Raine.
Following the basterds at No. 2 was Fox's animated flick "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," which bagged another $15 million for a stunning total gross of $635.2 million. To be honest, I never expected this stinker to perform this well internationally.
Meanwhile, new entry "The Final Destination" finished third this weekend, earning $10.1 million in only four markets. At No. 4, "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" took home $8 million, bringing its total gross to $133 million.
David Yates' "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" collected $7.7 million in fifth place, bringing its international cume to $610.5 million. Nicely done as well, Mr. Potter. Worldwide, "Prince" has reached $904.9 million.
Other results from the overseas box office: "Up" pulled $7.1 million; "The Ugly Truth" took home $4.2 million; "G-Force" earned $6.6 million; and "The Proposal" and "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" each brought in $3.1 million.
