Rob Zombie's "Halloween II" didn't win the box office race this weekend and delivered a weaker performance than its 2007 predecessor, but doesn't mean we're never going to see Michael Myers kill on the big screen again. In fact, he'll back in theaters next summer already, and this time, he'll kill in... 3D!
Believe it or not, but according to the Los Angeles Times, Bob Weinstein said "Halloween 3D" will be ready for summer 2010. The decision came just after "The Final Destination," which is currently playing in 3D, topped the box office this weekend.
In fact, 3D has already proven to be quite lucrative, and that's the reason we're in for more "Halloween" as well. In related news, Rob Zombie will not return to direct the film. The primary reason is that he's just signed on to remake "The Blob." Weinstein did not reveal the name of the guy they're talking to about the directing gig at the moment, but apparently, he's got experience working in the horror genre.
Now, I really like 3D and all, but I couldn't care less about the news of a 3D "Halloween." In fact, it kind of pisses me off, because I really thought we'd get a break from Myers for a while. But there you go... next summer, you can head out to a film in which more bloody body parts will be flying straight into your face. Tasty, isn't it?

Let me just say that Halloween II, while had its problems, was a better film that than the first and much more entertaining. For those who doubts that just because of his last film, just go and see it. Anyways, I think that a 3D Halloween III would be a stupid idea only because that is a terrible way to make back cash just because the last film didn't win the race like last time. I will still see it though, just because its Halloween. I also think that Rob Zombie is a great director and think that he should move on from Halloween, time to do something else. The Blob isn't quite what I expected from him, but who knows. The only thing i ask is that he doesn't make it like his last 4 films, all Hillbilly and such. That would NOT fly with the blob. I really wish he'd do TREX next, but oh well.
