'The Descent: Part 2' trailer offers more of same

Neil Marshall's 2005 horror film "The Descent" was one of the creepiest flicks of the genre I've seen in a long time, and it was also a film that certainly didn't need a sequel. Somebody out there thought it needed one anyway, and here's "The Descent: Part 2." Well, for now there's a trailer, and you can check it out after the jump.

I don't know about you, but to me, this looks pretty much exactly like the first film. I doubt it will be scarier, and everything in this trailer looks a tad too familiar for my taste. Are we really in for the same exact flick? Please, don't go all "Final Destination" on us by giving us more of the same over and over again...

Here's the official synopsis of the sequel:

Emerging from the cave system alone, distraught and covered in the blood of her missing companions, Sarah is incoherent and half-wild with fear. Sceptical about her account of events and convinced Sarah's psychosis hides far darker secrets, Sheriff Vaines doesn’t waste time. Along with his partner and their cave rescue team, Vaines forces Sarah back into the caves to help the rescuers find her friends.

The sequel doesn't have a U.S. release date yet as far as I know, but I'll keep you posted as soon as I learn more.
