Rob Zombie's next remake is 'The Blob'

Rob Zombie has picked his next big-screen project, and it's another remake. Indeed, Zombie will write and direct a new version of 1958's horror flick "The Blob," which starred Steve McQueen. Apparently, the project will hit production next Spring already.
In the original "Blob," a red alien substance literally swallows humans and consequently gains in size. As expected, Zombie plans to head into a different direction, although he keeps details under wraps for now.
Zombie told Variety his remake will not have a "big red blobby thing" in it. He said the Jello-looking alien form may not scare today's audiences anymore.
Zombie's latest film. "Halloween II," opens this weekend. He previously helmed "Halloween," which I admit I didn't really enjoy that much. Zombie also had "Tyrannosaurus Rex" in development, but that project is currently on hold.

Can't await to see what Rob Zombie will make out of the Blob... The Blob was one of my favorite Horror Movies when i was a child ;)) now let's see what Rob will make out of the Blob ;)
Well, I'm sure regardless of what the creature looks like, it will have a boatload of people with horrible, deplorable personalities... A lot of unnecessarily disgusting dialogue, probably an unnecessarily drawn out rape scene... Lots of music video style editing... A plot that refuses to stay true to the original, due to Zombie's high-vaunted sense of imparting his own vision, and I'm almost positive we'll see for the first time the sympathetic side to the deadly organism. I can hardly wait to avoid this movie with extreme prejudice!
I don't know why he doesn't just change the name of his remakes? His pathetic excuse for a remake of Halloween doesn't even deserve the title. If anyone in Hollywood is reading this right now, please... PLEASE stop giving Zombie remakes. Give them to someone who actually appreciates and respects the integrity of the original film, and wishes to honor the reason fans liked them in the first place. The remake of the Omen, prime example!!! One of the all time best remakes of a horror movie EVER. A more modern version of a classic, that did not attempt to re-write the damn movie! What a remake should be!
