Christensen is "Vanishing on Seventh Street"

Hayden Christensen in Jumper

Hayden Christensen ("Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith," "Awake") is on board and Thandie Newton and John Leguizamo may join him to star in Brad Anderson's upcoming thriller "Vanishing on Seventh Street." Anderson wrote the script with Anthony Jaswinski.

The flick is set in a deteriorating city taken over by shadowy forms that cause people to mysteriously disappear. The story follows five people as they try to survive without going nuts.

The Hollywood Reporter says Christensen plays a reporter, while Newton would play a nurse and Leguizamo a subway operator. Anderson will be shooting the whole thing in Detroit, a city that's been badly hit by the economic downturn.

We haven't seen Christensen since his okay performance in the mediocre action pic "Jumper," but he will be back this fall in "New York, I Love You." Newton will soon be seen in "2012" while Leguizamo's got "Gamer" coming up soon.

Anderson of course, directed the bloody brilliant thriller "Session 9," superb "The Machinist" and intriguing "Transsiberian."
