• Distribution house Apparition has aquired rights to bring "Black Dynamite" to theaters this fall. Scott Sanders' blaxploitation spoof screened at Sundance earlier this year. Apparition also recently acquired distribution rights to "Bright Star," "The Tree of Life" and "The Young Victoria." (More @Variety)

• Jet Li will return to China for the upcoming Xue Xiao-lu-directed Chinese flick "Ocean Paradise." At this stage, details about the project are kept under wraps. Li, who recently starred in "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor," will soon be seen in Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables." (The Hollywood Reporter)

• Julie Anne Robinson will direct "The Last Summer of You and Me," based on the book by Ann Brashares. The story follows a love triangle between two sisters and a young man on Fire Island. Mike Thompson is rewriting Jessica Goldberg's draft. Robinson is also directing the Miley Cyrus drama "The Last Song." (Variety)

• Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell, Donald Sutherland and Mark Strong have boarded Kevin Macdonald's "The Eagle of the Ninth." The film follows a young centurion who arrives in Scotland from Rome to investigate the unexplained disappearance the entire Ninth Legion. Jeremy Brock wrote the script. (The Hollywood Reporter)
