Catherine Hardwicke does 'Red Riding Hood'

Catherine Hardwicke, who last directed the first installment of "Twilight," is set to helm "The Girl With the Red Riding Hood" for Appian Way at Warner Bros., this according to Variety.

Written by David Johnson, this is a gothic retelling of the famous Little Red Riding Hood story. This time, one of the story's focus will be a teenage love triangle. Dramatic.

Hardwicke is certainly keeping herself busy post "Twilight." She's set to direct "If I Stay," an adaptation of Gayle Forman's novel about an 17-year-old musician who, after being involved in a car crash, gets to watch her own damaged body taken from the wreck.

She's also set to direct the big-screen version of James Patterson’s best-selling novel series “Maximum Ride." And finally, she's also developing "Hamlet," which has Emile Hirsch attached to star.

Hardwicke's "Twilight" was okay, but I really loved her debut film "Thirteen." I haven't seen "The Nativity Story" (and I don't want too), but I enjoyed "Lords of Dogtown."
