Jaime King has signed on and Shawn Ashmore, Briana Evigan, Alexa Vega and Matt O'Leary are in negotiations to star in Darren Lynn Bousman's upcoming horror remake "Mother's Day."
In the new version of Charles Kaufman's 1980 horror classic, a crazy family returns to their old house to terrorize the new owners and their guests. The Hollywood Reporter says King will play the woman of the house. Ashmore and Evigan would be portraying guests. O'Leary plays one of the terrorizers.
King has recent roles in "The Spirit" and the 3D "My Bloody Valentine." She will soon be seen in "Waiting for Forever." She's also set for "Emo Boy." Briana Evigan and Matt O'Leary will next star in "Sorority Row." Shawn Ashmore starred in "The Ruins."
Bousman's credits include "Repo! The Genetic Opera" and three "Saw" films. Unsurprisingly, the release for "Day" is planned for some time around Mother's Day next year.
