Bad idea: 'Death Race' gets a prequel

Paul W.S. Anderson's "Death Race" scored $75 million worldwide, and that's enough for the filmmaker to develop a prequel to the action movie that starred Jason Statham.
According to ShockTillYouDrop, Tony Giglio is set to write the script based on a story by Anderson. Apparently, the film will explore the origins of the deadly race and focus on the driver known as Frankenstein.
David Carradine played Frankenstein in Paul Bartel's original 1975 flick "Death Race 2000." The character also showed up in last year's remake.
In "Race," Statham plays a man framed for his wife's murder and forced to participate in a brutal car race in which drivers must kill each other on the road to victory.
Okay, Anderson's remake wasn't all that bad, but in my opinion, it was by no means solid enough to get a prequel. But hey, that's just me.
