As you may know already, a live-action reboot of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is in early developmental stages, and now the project has found its writer: John Fusco.
The film is apparently expected to be ready for release in 2011, and the story will likely focus on the origins of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael.
According to Variety, Fusco is quite knowledgeable when it comes to martial arts. He also wrote last year's "The Forbidden Kingdom," which I personally hated. Some of his other credits also include "Hidalgo" and the upcoming "The Seven Samurai."
The turtles have already made several big-screen appearances. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" debuted in 1990, and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze" followed in '91. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III" opened in 1993.
Who out there thinks it's a smart idea to bring back the crime-fighting hero turtles? Sound off below.

Don't forget he also wrote Yonung Guns I and II, both great action movies. This sounds like it has a lot of potential. I'm excited because computer animation technology has come a long way since the last few Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out in the 90's.
