Miley Cyrus to star in Disney's 'Wings'
"Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus is in talks to star in Walt Disney's upcoming big-screen adaptation of Aprilynne Pike's recently published book "Wings."
The story follows 15-year-old Laurel, who grows up in a small town and spends most of her early life in solitude. Things start to change when she goes to a new high school and finds out she's actually a fairy.
No writer is attached to the project at this stage. Pike's book is the first of a planned series of four novels. Miley's mother Tish Cyrus will executive produce "Wings."
Cyrus was last seen on the big screen in "Hannah Montana: The Movie." She's currently gearing up for "The Last Song," a drama written by Nicholas Sparks. Julie Anne Robinson is directing.

well. i read the book and loved it. Miley and disney is going to ruin the whole movie and book series. it's not for sure if she's going to be the star yet so i hope she's not. i'm not one of those Miley Cyrus haters or anything, but seriously.. she cant pull off the Laurel look or personality. i think Aprilynne Pike should have a say in how her movie goes; she doesn't, and i don't think that's really fair. also, they should use an unknown actor for the part of Laurel, this movie could be a good way of showing that they don't only have to use already famous people. i'm sure that there are millions of other girls who dream of being in this movie who can actually pull it off.
jule, you got it spot on!!!! any famous person, wether it be miley, demi, or selena, or any other famous person will distract if not ruin the movie from what it really is....I am an actress myself and i have the audition info and everything and i DO HOPE i will get the part of chelsea. but, famous people will probably claim the roles of the movie, sadly...
i like miley cyrus and all. But shes not fit for the part. I read over laurels discription over and over. But i dont picture miley. I was hoping they made a movie after iv finised the book but now i regret it. This makes me truley sad. This takes the image i had of her fly out the window. Im not much of a reader. I never read accually. I never got hooked on twilight, and all my friends have. Iv found a book i truly love and im willing to read it a million tims over. Iv finally found something i love and its gonna be ruined. I found something to brag about but now its shatterd. I just hope they change their mind. And i hope they know that it dosnt take some famous teenager to make a good movie.
I have to say that Miley should not play this part, its not like I hate her, but shes to known, and she never cross my mind when I read this book, I picture blonde with fair skin, miley is brunette with tan skin to california for this part I say. I don't like that disney pick it up anyway there going to turn it into kiddie movie and lose the magic of the book and some of the more intense scenes.

How sad, a great story ruined by Disney and Miley Cyrus. I love the book, but I will not watch the movie if Miley stars as Laurel. So sad and very disappointing. I really hope she doesn't get the part, I hope they think about the great story that they have in their hands and look for an unknown actress so the focus can be on the story and not on the star.
NO! Miley Cyrus can't believe she is playing Laurel! She would be a horrible fairy! I read the book! I would no! This is absolutely horrible. She is going to ruin the whole movie!

NO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! MILEY CYRUS CANNOT PULL OFF A FAERIE!!!!! Let me tell you why: 1)Faeries are suppose to be petite boned; Miley is either medium or large
2)She is too tan; faeries are pale skined (Of course make up can help this, but it won't look very natural)
3)Her nose isn't straight like a faerie's should be
4)Laurel's eyes are pale green; Miley's probably are, too, but they look grayish
5)To tell you the truth, I don't think she looks very good with blond hair
Now, don't get me wrong; she is kinda pretty, but she's not FAERIE pretty. I think that Taylor Swift could pull off a faerie role, but she's not an actress. Man, i finally find something i love and Miley's fame always ruins it. seriously, i had a fight with my friend about her. SHE IS RUINING MY LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
