The lovely Natalie Portman is set to play the female lead in Kenneth Branagh's upcoming big-screen adaptation of “Thor" for Marvel Comics.
The Hollywood Reporter says Portman will play Jane Foster, who became Thor's first love. Apparently, her character will get a makeover of some sorts for this project.
In the film, Thor, a powerful warrior, reignites a devestating war, causing him to be sent to Earth to live among humans. Shortly after, a ruthless villain names Loki plans to invade the planet.
Chris Hemsworth is set to play Thor, with Tom Hiddleston on-board as Loki. Mark Protosevich wrote the script for the film, set to open May 20, 2011.
Portman ("V for Vendetta") will soon be seen in "Borthers." She also recently joined David Gordon Green's "Your Highness."

"In the film, Thor, a powerful warrior"
wtf is this sanitised crap? is this a fundie creationist site?
Thor is the norse God of Thunder....not some mighty warrior.
Yes, and you are calling this crap just because I didn't say that? FYI, he is apparently a great combatant, and that means warrior. And this is certainly not a creationist site; that has nothing to do with anything. Save your outbursts for your homies or something.
