The search and wait are over. Warner Bros. has found the man to play the lead character in its upcoming big-screen adaptation of "The Green Lantern," and the winner is: Ryan Reynolds!
That's right folks. The man who's currently onscreen in "The Proposal" and recently starred in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" will indeed slip into the role of Hal Jordan, a test pilot who comes into possession of a ring that holds great powers.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the studio did several rounds of screen tests recently. Bradley Cooper, Jared Leto and even Justin Timberlake took part. Reynolds, however, is the final pick.
I admit this is interesrting news. Reynolds has been delivering quite a few solid performances recently, and he's got several projects lined up. "Buried" is one of them, and a "Deadpool" spin-off is another.
BTW: Hal Jordan’s character was created by John Broome and Gil Kane. "The Green Lantern" will arrive in theaters June 17, 2011. Martin Campbell is directing the flick.
