'Revenge of the Fallen' takes home $28M Thursday

Michael Bay's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" continued its early box office reign Thursday with an estimated $28.6 million in ticket sales.
The sequel lifted its domestic total to a solid $89.2 million after only two days in release. Starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, the film follows Sam Witwicky as he helps the Autobots prevent the Decepticons from destroying mankind.
"Revenge of the Fallen" set a new Wednesday opening record with $60.6 million. The film is currently playing at 4,234 locations.
Other Thursday box office results: "The Proposal" collected $3.6 million for a total of $50.5 million, "The Hangover" picked up $2.8 million; "Up" pulled $2.5 million; and "Year One" finished the day with $1.2 million.
