Ryan Reynolds boards 'Buried' thriller

Ryan Reynolds, who's currently onscreen in "The Proposal," is set to star in Rodrigo Cortes' upcoming indie thriller "Buried," according to Variety.

Chris Sparling wrote the script, which centers on a civilian contractor who's kidnapped and awakens in the Iraqi desert with only a phone, a candle and a knife.

Reynolds has been celebrating quite the career boost recently. The "Van Wilder" star delivered some solid performances in decent films, including "The Nines," "Definitely, Maybe" and "Adventureland."

Reynolds also played Wade Wilson in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," and he's already set to play the lead in the upcoming "Deadpool" spinoff.

As a side note, I found Reynolds very refreshing alongside Sandra Bullock in "The Proposal." This guy's got a solid future ahead of him.
