'Battle of the Smithsonian' tops overseas b.o.

Shawn Levy's Ben Stiller vehicle "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" climbed to the top spot at the international box office this weekend with an estimated $37.2 million in ticket sales. The film's total gross currently stands at $106 million.

At No. 2, Ron Howard's "Angels & Demons" took home another $32.9 million, lifting its cumulative gross to $251.7 million. Following in third place with $13 million was McG's "Terminator Salvation," which brought its overseas total to $23.1 million.

Meanwhile, Gavin Hood's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" finished fourth with a weekend gross of $8.1 million and a total haul of $170.1 million. J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" scored the fifth spot on the international circuit this weekend, collecting $8 million for a cume of $101.5 million.

Opening this weekend were Sam Raimi's "Drag Me to Hell," which picked up $4.4 million in three markets, and Pixar's "Up," which brought in $4.2 million.

Other results from the overseas box office: "Hannah Montana: The Movie" took home $2.4 million; "Monsters vs. Aliens" grabbed another $3.1 million; "State of Play" picked up $2.6 million; and "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" reached a total gross of $11.3 million.
