Virginia Madsen to produce ski jumper documentary

Virginia Madsen has done a couple of crappy projects (including her latest "The Haunting in Connecticut"), but I forgive her. She still rocks and I particularly love her in "Sideways."

Anyway, according to Variety, Madsen is set to produce "Fighting Gravity," a documentary about 15 athletes trying to get the International Olympic Committee to allow women ski jumpers to compete in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

The fact alone the IOC banned women from taking part in the sport is just stupid, of course, and I can only hope somebody gets to slam some sense into these people's heads. Time to realize we are indeed living in the 21st century.

Madsen, whose recent credits include "The Number 23" and "The Astronaut Farmer," will also soon appear in "Amelia." "Fighting Gravity" is already in production, by the way.
