Alterman to climb 'Treehouse' for next directing gig

Kent Alterman, who delivered the moderately amusing Will Ferrell vehicle "Semi-Pro," is in talks to direct Warner's upcoming adventure "Treehouse Gang."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the idea for the flick comes from Timothy Dowling.

The story follows six childhood friends who team up several years later to embark on a nostalgic treasure hunt.

THR says the project is described as a grown-up version of "The Goonies." Oooooookay...

Anyway, "Semi-Pro" marked Alterman's directorial debut. A fromer New Lince Cimena man, he also executive produced TV's "Strangers with Candy," "Elf" and "A History of Violence."
