Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to return to big screen
Okay, so 2007's animated "TMNT" really sucked, but somebody you there is convinced it's a good idea to bring the crime-fighting hero turtles back to the big screen. And this time, they'll return in a live-action feature!
According to Variety, the Mirage Group is gearing up to develop a new installment in the series. The film is apparently expected to be ready for release in 2011, and the story will likely focus on the origins of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael.
The turtles have already made several big-screen appearances. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" debuted in 1990, and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze" followed in '91. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III" opened in 1993.
As a kid, I always loved watching the live-action TMNT flicks, and although I know this reboot is going to look incredibly different, I admit I could probably get excited over it if it's done right and looks intriguing enough. I guess I'll find out soon. How about you? Psyched the green boys will return?
