Mark Wahlberg to star in 'Prisoners'
Mark Wahlberg has done both awesome and crappy films recently, the good including "The Departed" and "I Heart Huckabees," and the bad ones including "The Happening" and "Max Payne."
That said, I like Wahlberg as an actor, and with the right script and under the right direction, this guy's got enough potential to take a complex role and turn it into an intriguing performance.
The latest project Wahlberg is attached to is "Prisoners," a thriller written by Aaron Guzikowski.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the story follows a man who, after his daughter and her friend are kidnapped, goes nuts and decides to kidnap the man he thinks is responsible.
Sounds like Pierre Morel's "Taken" with an extra twist, but what the heck, it could be interesting.
Wahlberg, whose credits also include "We Own the Night" and "Four Brothers," will also star in Peter Jackson,'s upcoming "The Lovely Bones."
