Universal is close to acquiring the rights to develop “The Adjustment Bureau,” a sci-fi love story written by George Nolfi.
According to Variety, Matt Damon is on board to play a promising congressman who meets a beautiful ballet dancer but finds it hard to get romantically involved with her.
As it turns out, he quickly discovers there are mysterious forces that are trying to keep them apart, which is why he embarks on a mission to find out what is really going on.
The trade says Nolfi will also direct the film. His writing credits include "The Bourne Ultimatum," and he's also working on the script for Universal's next Jason Bourne film.
Damon has several future projects coming up, including Steven Soderbergh's "The Informant" and Clint Eastwood's "The Human Factor."
