Tyler Perry preps two next films at Lionsgate
Tyler Perry knows how to please his fans, because most of his flicks bring in the big bucks. Right now, the filmmaker is already planning his next two films.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Perry is set to develop two more films at Lionsgate: "Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself" and "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too."
Of course, Perry will write, direct, and star in the two flicks. Doesn't he also produce his stuff?
Coming to theaters first is "Bad," which will also feature his popular Madea character. The film is based on his play, and Taraji P. Henson is on board to star. "Bad" will open Sept. 11, 2009.
Following will be "Married," the sequel to the funny 2007 comedy "Why Did I Get Married?" The film will open April 2, 2010.
I'm personally not the biggest fan of Perry, because to me, most of his films are just too darn repetitive. That said, I admit I had a fabulous time watching "Why Did I Get Married?" There was just something about that film that made me crack up every five minutes.
Perry's "Madea Goes to Jail" has been dominating the North American box office for two weeks in a row. The film has grossed $67 million to date.
