Dakota Fanning is ready to turn into a rocker... on the big screen, of course.
The 15-year-old actress is in talks to join Kristen Stewart in "The Runaways," the biopic of the popular girl rock band. According to Variety, Fanning would play singer Cheri Currie.
The plot will focus on the formation of The Runaways all the way to the end of their career as a group. The all-girl band came together in 1975, producing famous songs such as "Cherry Bomb" and "Queens of Noise."
Stewart is on board to play Joan Jett, who later formed the Blackhearts and returned back to fame with "I Love Rock N' Roll."
Floria Sigismondi wrote the screenplay and will direct the feature, which is scheduled to head into production sometime this year.
Fanning most recently starred in "Push" and did voice-over work for "Coraline." She has also been rumored to star in "New Moon," which recently started shooting.
