Cruise, Diaz considering new Fox comedy

James Mangold is in talks to direct and Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are considering to star in an untitled 20th Century Fox romantic comedy.

According to Variety, the film was formerly known as "Wichita" and "Trouble Man." Scott Frank, whose credits include "Marley & Me" and "Minority Report," is on board to rewrite the script.

The plot follows a woman who has terrible luck with men but quickly sees her life changing when she encounters a mysterious guy on a blind date.

The trade said Chris Tucker and Eva Mendes were originally attached to star in the flick. Patrick O'Neill apparently wrote the original script, and Frank and Dana Fox also worked on early drafts.

Anyway, Mangold's directing credits include "3:10 To Yuma" and "Walk the Line." Cruise recently starred in "Valkyrie," while Diaz was last seen in "What Happens in Vegas." Cruise and Diaz also collborated on "Vanilla Sky."
