The Harry Potter cast is great, they all match the roles. Many people (like me) love the films. But since the cast of this film is starting to become worse than crap, I'm not watching this.

Percy's 17 as well. I really think they should have picked a better cast. But, if you look at it- there are a lot of famous actors and actresses in the cast- that attracts a lot of people.

i'm sorry, but this movie is probably gonna suck. i hope i'm wrong, but they've already screwed up probably the easiest part of the movie (casting). i would be extremely surprised if they can turn this around and make it good.

personally this alexandria girl looks nothing like i pictured annabeth.annabeth has curly long blond hair gray eyes and is kinda tall for a !!12!! year old. Logan on the other hand can be pulled off because his age is the only problem not 1 in many

So... wait, are they making Percy 18 too or are they making it non-romantic between them or is a 12 year old boy going to fall for a 18 year old. Well, technically they'd be 16 and... um... 22 when THAT happens. But seeing as it's so incestuous already, shouldn't they change actresses? I'm fairly certain she was only hired because she has worked with the director before. There are plenty of adorable girls out there... appropriately aged girls...

This really sucks. I saw the little trailer for it and was sooo angry! Percy is suppose to be a child. The whole point of him being 12 is so that people can watch Percy grow and learn and fulfill the prohecy. This is utterly absurd! This is a HUGE mistake! They have a grown black man playing Grover! I wouldn't mind if he was a black kid, actually i would perfer a black kid because it would bring great diversity but a black adult? Uh, NO! This will more then likely do as good as Eragon which only raked in about 250 million and will more then likely RUIN Christopher Columbus career! THATS WHAT HE GETS TOO!!! Great job on HP though Chris!! ;p !!!! My son will be highly upset once he finds this out!

He doesn't want it to be too similar to HP and he is hoping to bring in a larger audience of ppl who are not of aware of the book series, but it still pisses me off to a mjr extreme that Chris Columbus would do this. I know he doesn't cast himself, but he does have the final say as to who is picked and should know this will upset the fans of Pery Jackson. Be afraid, Chirs! Be very afraid!

I think Alexandra's not gonna portray Annabeth in the best way. I was hoping like, Annashophia Robb or someone CUTE and BLOND and YOUNG would get to play her. NOT A 24 YEAR OLD. I honestly don't think the movie's gonna be all that great. I don't think Grover's looking the best either......I thought he was supposed to be like, really hairy or something. Idk, whatever.

I really hope they can turn this around and make it good. They didn't even have auditions for it, just agent to agent tlk or wtevr. Tell me... Chris Columbus, did you read the book? Did you think that maybe casting people that are more famous that others would get your movie more attention. Personally, I think that the Annabeth that you casted is horrible. She's supposed to be a 12 year old girl!!!!! Annabeth is supposed to have BLOND CURLY HAIR. Not BROWN STRAIGHT HAIR!!! I think that Anna Sophia Robb would be waaay better (no offense Alexandra). I hope that with a lot of make up maybe even dying her hair, you can make her look more realistic. I don't know if I really want to watch the movie anymore. You can't just change everything around. If you make Annabeth 18, the movie will suck and make absolutely no sense and a 12 year old boy cant fall in love with an 18 year old girl!!! If this doesn't change, you'll be messing up the entire series and this could be the mistake of your life. You might even be able to make a second movie, and what a shame that would be (not). :)

So obviously there wasn't even a thought of a second movie or even continuing the series. I think it was just a quick excuse to make some money and screw all the viewers and fans over.

I have read the books over many times and i love them so much, but no where in any of the books does it say that Annabeth has STRAIGHT BROWN HAIR. Uh and hello Alexandra is like 24... how in the world are they supposed to make her look 12????? I have been anticipating for them to make a movie out of the Lightning Theif for awhile now and now they just ruined the whole thing for alot of people. I don't even think I want to see it anymore. If Percy is still going to be twelve and Annabeth is going to be 18 (alot of people are saying that) then this will be a major blow on this movie. Alot of the draw for people (well at least girls) is the conection between Percy and Annabeth!!!! I always imagined Grover a whole lot different then an older black dude. I'm not racist or anything, but that was a mistake also. Chris, you did a great job on picking the cast for Harry Potter, so what we're all wondering is WHY DID YOU SCREW THIS UP SO BAD??? Go buy a copy of the book and read it, then RE-CAST!!!

Wow! I agree with everyone else! The cast is great except for the fact that they are all grown ups! What was Chris thinking?
