Juan Antonio Bayona in race to direct 'Eclipse'?

Summit Entertainment is currently looking for a director for the big-screen version of "Eclipse," the third film in the popular "Twilight" series.

Last month Drew Barrymore came up as one of the candidates the studio is talking to, as did directors Paul Weitz and James Mangold, among others.

According to Steven Zeitchik at Risky Biz Blog, another hot contender for the job is Juan Antonio Bayona, the man behind the excellent horror flick "The Orphanage" (El Orfanato).

Summit hasn't made an official announcement yet, but Zeitchik says sources indicate Bayona may end up winning the race.

"Eclipse" will be released in theaters June 10, 2010. As for the next film in the series, "New Moon," it has just started shooting with Chris Weitz at the helm.

Bayona is also set to direct Universal's "Hater."
