'Watchmen' receives mixed reviews across web

Zack Snyder won't open in theaters until March 6, but plenty of people out there already had the chance to see what the film is all about.

Strangely enough, the reviews I came across on the Web recently are pretty mixed. Some seem to love the film, others clearly hate it. Many enjoyed it, others didn't that much. Let's check out some responses:

• Jenna Busch at Joblo: "Snyder has made a pretty, shiny, colorful film. God, this makes me sad to say, but if you've seen the trailer though, you've seen most of the good parts already."

• Harry at AICN: "It isn’t the perfect 5 hour wet dream that I always dreamt of, but I love it."

• Kirk Honeycutt at the Hollywood Reporter: "There is something a little lackadaisical here. The set pieces are surprisingly flat and the characters have little resonance. Fight scenes don't hold a candle to Asian action. Even the digital effects are ho-hum."

• Justin Chang at Variety says fans of the graphic novel: "will thrill to every pulpy line of dialogue and bloody act of retribution retained in director Zack Snyder’s slavishly faithful adaptation."

Empire's Ian Nathan: "Okay, it isn’t the graphic novel, but Zack Snyder clearly gives a toss, creating a smart, stylish, decent adaptation, if low on accessibility for the non-convert."

• Steve Anglesey at Mirror.co.uk: "But it’s searing, spectacular and simply unmissable."

• Orlando Parfitt at IGN U.K.: "This movie is a shallow interpretation of Watchmen, shorn of sophistication or literary density."

Below are some more links to "Watchmen" reviews. Enjoy checking them out.
