Get ready for 'Pride and Predator'

No, this is not a joke!

Aliens will soon mess up Austen's romance in "Pride and Predator," an unusual take on "Pride and Prejudice" produced by Elton John's Rocket Pictures.

According to Variety, the film puts a spin on the genre by having Austen's characters from her novel face something more than marriage and inheritance when an alien crashes on Earth and starts to eliminiate everyone it can find.

Will Felix Clark, who helmed a short entitled "The Amazing Trousers," is on board to direct the project, which the trade said will head into production later this year.

Apparently, John will supervise the music, although I hope we won't get to listen to slow piano tunes while a bad-ass alien reaps havoc. Who knows, maybe that'll even give the film a more unusual touch (just kidding).

Anyway, right now, this sounds like a fun project. I admit I'm a fan of "Pride & Prejudice," but brining in some alien action sounds like the perfect way to spice up the story a bit.

I think this movie is the silliest idea ever, and I think it’s inherit silliness is what will make it a cult favorite. People love Elton John – I’ve read some great reviews of his music on EverHype (www.everhype.com/?utm_source=bc) and I think that this movie will get the same kind of cult following that he does.
