Richard Loncraine to helm 'Perfect Margarita'

Richard Loncraine is ready to produce and direct "The Perfect Margarita."

Written by Geoff Dean, the film follows a New York marriage counselor who leads a messy life. While his best friend is trying hard to help him find a girlfriend, he suddenly realizes he feels more for her than he thought.

Loncraine told Variety the project will be a feel-good movie because he thinks people are not looking for dark films and unhappy endings in times of a troubled economy.

Loncraine also directed the decent romance "Wimbledon," which starred Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst. He followed up with 2006's disappointing thriller "Firewall."

"My One and Only," Loncraine's latest comedy with Renee Zellweger, Nick Stahl and Kevin Bacon, is currently competing at the Berlin Film Festival.
