New pics from 'Nightmare on Elm Street' remake

Warner Bros. just released three new photos from Samuel Bayer's upcoming horror remake "A Nightmare on Elm Street," which will make its way to theaters April 30, 2010. Check them out above and below.

Jackie Earle Haley plays Freddy Krueger, the ruthless killer who sneaks into people's dreams and kills them while they're sleeping. Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker and Kellan Lutz co-star.

A first trailer debuted back in September, and although it failed ot impress me, I admit I am quite excited to see Haley take over this role. He's just the right guy to play Krueger. See the trailer here.

Samuel Bayer, by the way, also directed "Max." Are you loving the idea of a remake? Let me know below.

I've been a Nightmare On Elm Street fan since getting my horror loving claws on the original. I loved the dark tones and cinematic direction of part one. Part 3 was a pop culture classic. It's a shame Patricia Arquette didn't return for part four(The other blonde lead ruined it for me). All the other sequels I really didn't care for much, with the exception of New Nightmare(only for the nostalgia). Not to sure how I feel about the remake. I'm digging the serious feel it has, but the trailer felt wierd. Robert England's stature, vocals, & manerisms are what made Freddy. It's not like Jason Voorhees, where the actors persona is in the mask. I like Jackie Earle Haley as a actor and I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he will add his own unique chapter to the nightmare series.
