'First Avenger: Captain America' is coming soon!

Joe Johnston's "The First Avenger: Captain America" may hit the production stage very soon. The film is currently slated for a release 2011, and according to the director, filming could start this summer.

That's right. Even though we haven't heard that much about the flick in a while, Johnston is ready to shoot this thing starting June. That's according to the folks at Fangoria, who recently interviewed him.

Johnston's new film "The Wolfman" is opening Feb. 12, 2010. He spoke to Fangoria from the art department of "The First Avenger: Captain America," a clear indication he's in full pre-production mode.

No casting has been announced for "America" yet, so I guess we'll start to get more news about this project soon. Hey, it's about darn time, don't you think? More at Fangoria here.
