As the trailer for Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood" is starting to play more and more often in theaters, more and more people seem to get excited about the director's reimagining of the famous character.
Here is a new poster for the upcoming adventure film, and I believe it first showed up at HeyUGuys. It's quite simple, yes, but it sure looks awesome; kind of that fantastic last shot in the current preview.
"Robin Hood" opens May 14, 2010, and it features an all-star cast including Russell Crowe, Mark Strong, Matthew Macfadyen, Cate Blanchett, William Hurt, Danny Huston, Max von Sydow and Kevin Durand.
The film, of course, chronicles the life of the famous expert archer, previously interested only in self-preservation, from his service in King Richard's army against the French.
Upon Richard’s death, Robin travels to Nottingham, a town suffering from the corruption of a despotic sheriff and crippling taxation, where he falls for the spirited widow Lady Marion (Blanchett).
Hoping to earn the hand of Maid Marion and salvage the village, Robin assembles a gang whose lethal mercenary skills are matched only by its appetite for life. They begin preying on the indulgent upper class.

Awesome is right! Can't wait for this!
Saw an advanced screening at the Kingston Odeon . . . . What a shocker of a film, a wonderful story ruined by a disjointed film that was badly acted. Crowe's accent makes Dick Van Dyke seem a master linguist!! The film was so poor that the mild ripple of applause at the end was greeted with shhhh. I was sad leaving the cinema as this is the first Robin Hood film that truly stank, scenes were all stolen from other films and at one stage Crowe picks up earth - sound familiar? Save yourself some money and watch something else because Maximus Decimus Hood was not value for money even when my ticket was free; 1/10
