Opening weekend for James Cameron's "Avatar" is history, but that doesn't mean Fox's action-packed sci-fi epic is slowing down. On the contrary, the film added another stunning $16.3 million Monday!
"Avatar" delivered an average of $4,747 per theater at 3,452 locations Monday, which is a solid result for a weekday run. The film's domestic total currently stands at $93.4 million after four days in release.
Disney's "The Princess and the Frog" didn't perform bad either. The 2D-animated adventure collected another $2.9 million for a total gross of $47.6 million. "The Blind Side" followed closely with $2 million.
"Avatar" has some serious competition this week when "Sherlock Holmes" will land in theaters Friday. Nancy Meyers' "It's Complicated" and the "Alvin and the Chipmunks" sequel shouldn't be much of a threat.
Let's keep in mind though that "Nine" and "Up in the Air" will finally expand nationwide this weekend as well.

I hope it continues to dominate at the box office this weekend to beating Sherlock Holmes too.
