The first teaser trailer for Ridley Scott's upcoming new version of "Robin Hood" has landed online, and you should check it out after the jump. My first thoughts: this doesn't look all that bad at all!
Scott's "Robin Hood" stars Russell Crowe and chronicles the life of the famous expert archer, previously interested only in self-preservation, from his service in King Richard's army against the French.
Upon Richard’s death, Robin travels to Nottingham, a town suffering from the corruption of a despotic sheriff and crippling taxation, where he falls for the spirited widow Lady Marion (Cate Blanchett).
Hoping to earn the hand of Maid Marion and salvage the village, Robin assembles a gang whose lethal mercenary skills are matched only by its appetite for life. They begin preying on the indulgent upper class.
This is a short teaser that doesn't show us anything but battle scenes, but then again, that's a good way of getting audiences' attention. I'm not sure about Crowe for this role, but the teaser looks gorgeous.
"Robin Hood" will ride to theaters May 14, 2010. Danny Huston, Kevin Durand and William Hurt co-star.
